Fiber Transceivers
DESCRIPTION The C85-155M-C8A transceiver from Lasermate is 155Mbps/194MBd fiber optic transceiver modules in the new industry standard 1x9 SIP package style with a duplex SC connector interface. This transceiver is designed for multimode fiber ATM backbone links and multimode fiber ATM wiring closet to desktop links applications. The C85-155M-C8A transceiver is designed to meet the standard 2,000 m distance requirement. These will provide the system designer with products to implement a range of solutions for multimode fiber SONET OC-3 (SDH STM-1) physical layers for ATM and other services. These transceiver is a low cost solution to the requirements of ATM155 interconnects. They are class I laser products compliant with FDA Radiation Performance Standards, 21 CFR Subchapter J, as well as International Safety Standard IEC-825-1. Typical applications include: LANs (Local Area Networks), clustered workstation links, and connections to mass storage devices. The C85-155M-C8A transceiver has an independent Transmitter (TX) and Receiver (RX). The transmitter consists of a high reliability 850nm VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) diode which couples to a fiber optic cable through an SC connector. The TX is driven with a differential PECL (Positive Emitter Coupled Logic) signal applied to TX In+ and TX In-. The maximum optical power meets the class I laser safety standard. The receiver consists of a high performance 850 nm GaAs PIN photodiode detector. Optical input is coupled to the receiver with either a 50/125 or a 62.5/125 micron fiber through an SC connector. APPLICATIONS
(1) The launch power of (-10, -4) dBm is specially
designed for the 2 km distance requirement and the maximum optical power
meets the class I laser safety standard.
Receiver Electro-optical Characteristics:
(1) Voltage levels listed are compatible with 100K Series PECL logic levels. The parts are compatible with 10K and 10KH Series logic when driven with differential signals. Absolute Maximum Ratings:
